Gangstagrass blasts into Summer 2013 and beyond

"If you are playing chess against Bigfoot, don't win. And for God's sake don't cheat." - Ancient Bluegrass-Hip-Hop proverb.

This year we get out to see so many fans in person as we storm across the country, and it started off strong with tours north to Canada and back in Feburary, and across the South and Midwest in April. Check it out:

But that was only the beginning! Our full scale invasion continues with live performances throughout the summer and fall! See if we are in your area, and go to www.gangstagrass.com/shows or www.facebook.com/gangstagrass/events for details

We are going to put some time in to make the hottest tracks ever and you can't rush that, so this monsterpiece will be cooking until the fall, when we unleash it on the world. Take a peek at some behind the scenes footage for the production of a new Gangstagrass video that will launch the first single:

Thanks to the fans for an awesome tour!

Gangstagrass is home from the Flying Rattlesnakes Tour. And It
Rocked. So thanks.

We have returned, victorious from a whirlwind campaign of badassery.
But we did not do it alone. Thanks to many people who came and
supported us and danced and screamed and partied like there was no
tomorrow in San Francisco, Grants Pass, Eugene, Corvallis, Portland,
Tacoma, San Diego, LA, Nashville, and Centre College. We had a blast
and can't wait to be back!

We were so happy to come out and share the experience in person with
you, so you could see R-SON the Voice of Reason rocking the mic,
demonstrating the hottest freestyle skills north of Antarctica, backed
by Rench on guitar, Doug Goldstein on banjo, David Yannuzzi on dobro,
Jon West on fiddle, and the block rocking beats you know and love.

For those of you who were not able to see us on this tour, fear not.
Just be patient - we have plans to get out more in early 2013 and in
the spring. We know where you are and we want to come there. We will
be heading to the south, to the midwest, to the northeast, and also to
Europe. Keep spreading the word about Gangstagrass, the more fans we
have in your town the easier it is for us to come play there!

Thank You From the Band

Dear fantastic incredible believers - congratulations to you for being
part of the spectacular splash that Rappalachia has made in its first
couple weeks - you are powering our attack on the music world.
Rappalchia has been in the top 50 charts of Amazon.com mp3 sales for
country *and* hip-hop, we are taking boxloads of packages to the post
office to send out all the physical orders, and iTunes has put the
album on the "new and noteworthy" list, bringing the Gangstagrass
sound to thousands of new ears!

We love having all this exposure and seeing our music reach more and
more people, and you get the credit for that. I have had the chance to
meet fans face to face during our touring last month, and I hear so
many stories about how a fan has turned all their friends on to
Gangstagrass, or played Gangstagrass for their entire office at work,
or shared Gangstagrass tracks with their whole family. That rules.
Fans like you who are sharing this music with everyone you know are
the reason Gangstagrass is growing and getting more powerful in our
mission to bring bluegrass-hip-hop to the world. YOU are our marketing
department. This is an independent operation - we really do take all
your packages to the post office, and we really do it all ourselves.
And you really do make all the difference when you support us by
buying the music and merchandise and telling others about it.

So keep it up, we are honored and excited to have you supporting us
and we plan to keep fresh music coming your way!

Rench

Gangstagrass tornado of awesome - note from the band

So much going on here at the secret lair it is hard to keep up with. We just had great shows in Nashville, West Virginia, Pittsburgh, and central NY after releasing the new album Rappalachia. It is rad meeting fans in person and getting to do it live for you. The album is getting rave reviews from our favorite people, AKA fans. Lots of interviews going on, so there will be lots for you to read about the making of the album, such as our recent interview with Hear Hear.

About to head to Toronto to throw a roof deck pool party there on June 14th with our friends Brooklyn35 Collective and I Am Love, which will be a blast, but first we are here in Brooklyn shooting a video for "Bound To Ride" which is looking triple hot. We will post some pics soon. R-SON and Dolio and Rench are on camera, plus Jason Cade and Todd Livingston, plus kids, exploding flowers, skulls, snakes in a bottle, and more!

Thanks to everyone who is buying the new album and other stuff at our store - keep spreading the word!

On June 28th we play a hometown gig in Brooklyn at the Knitting Factory, which will be a party and a half. Our friends The Defibulators will kick it off and we will have lots of special guests and free home-made cookies!

If you are lilstening to Rappalachia and enjoying it, post about it - thats how people get exposed to this music and we want everyone to hear it!

Austin was a blast and wouldn't have been half as awesome if it wasn't for our great new friends over at the Do512 and Shiner Beer. They put together not one but TWO awesome videos for us. Here's the first of the two from their Lounge Sessions. We love us some Do512!
